ACYOA Central Council visit & Youth Gathering at Our Saviour
Members of the ACYOA Central Council gathered at America’s first Armenian parish—the Armenian Church of Our Saviour in Worcester, MA—on the weekend of September 23-24, to plan upcoming events and review ongoing ACYOA ministries. Joining them was Jennifer Morris of the Eastern Diocese’s Youth and Young Adult Ministries department.
After the Saturday Central Council meeting, the youth from Worcester and the New England area gathered for an evening of fellowship, connection and prayer. The young people, who ranged in age from teens to mid-20s, enjoyed dinner and fellowship together. It was a welcome opportunity to connect, share their faith, and share ideas.
The evening concluded in a quieter mood, as the young faithful gathered in the church sanctuary under the leadership of parish pastor Fr. Tadeos Barseghyan, along with the visiting Fr. Vart Gyozalyan of the Hye Pointe parish, for a candlelight prayer service for their brothers and sisters in Artsakh.
The Central Council’s weekend concluded with badarak on Sunday.
“It was a blessing to welcome the ACYOA Central Council for the weekend, and bring so many of youth together in a spirit of friendship and prayer,” said Fr. Barseghyan. “It was inspiring to see so many young people joining us, to seek connection with each other and with the Lord.”
