GIFTING TREE FOR CHILDREN
I am happy to introduce a wonderful program that will put a smile on the faces of little children on Christmas morning.
The Elm Park Elementary School, located in our neighborhood on N. Ashland Street, has over 400 students, pre-K to Grade 6, who come from families that need assistance. We have reached out to the school and have created a program that will put a smile on the faces of 25 of those students on Christmas morning. They will feel the love, with you having an opportunity to be part of that joy.
On Sunday, November 24th and December 1st, a Christmas tree, located in the Church Hall, will have 25 tags with the name of a child and their wishes for Santa. We ask that you select a tag and make a difference in their lives. The gifts do not need to be wrapped, and a bag will be given to you. Simply fill the bag with your purchases with the tag and return it to the Church by Sunday December 15th.
We have worked closely with the school’s professionals. It has been suggested to gift one toy and one piece of clothing of descent and good value per child, budgeting around $70-$90. If your budget does not allow that amount to be spent, please spend as much as possible or perhaps share the tag with a friend.
Please help us do the work of our Lord in celebrating His glorious birth and spread your love to those who might not have a Merry Christmas without your support. Think of the warmth that your heart will feel on Christmas morning, knowing that you are doing the work of our Lord and making a small child happy and loved.
