Restoring a Beautiful Tradition

Restoring a Beautiful Tradition

Many have asked about the cherished tradition of wearing veils in church. We are happy to share that our parish now has new liturgical veils, lovingly handcrafted in Armenia, for those who wish to take part in this meaningful practice.
For centuries in the Armenian Church, it has been a beautiful custom for women to wear veils during the worship service—a sign of reverence, modesty, and humility before God. This tradition reflects the heavenly worship described in Isaiah 6 and the teaching of St. Paul in 1 Corinthians 11.
Our veils will be available for anyone who would like to use them when entering the sanctuary or approaching the altar for Confession or Holy Communion. We kindly ask that they be returned after the service so others may also share in this tradition.
We will have some available for purchase at the gift shop as well if you’d like to have your own.
