The ACYOA Jrs. hosted the first in a series of dinners which will take place every Wednesday through the lenten period.
The dinner, which was held after the lenten services, took place in the newly renovated Church Hall. The meal consisted of pasta with broccoli and vegetarian sausages along with garlic bread and salad. Ice cream was served for dessert.
Chairman Allison Mamishian thanked those in attendance and the mothers who helped in the kitchen. She then introduced Hayr Ghevont Samoorian who spoke about the seventy days of lent (including the 30 day fast of the catachumens) and its tie to the Jonah and the whale. He also imparted a few personal stories and reflected upon our Der Aved and how lucky our Parish is have him as its Pastor.
The Jrs. did all the serving and clean up, aided in the kitchen by 3 mothers dressed in red.
Congratulations to the ACYOA for starting this lenten season off with a memorable meal.
Thanks to all who showed their support by attending.
