12:00 - 5:00
The weather was perfect and the bus ride was just long enough.
Almost 40 members of our Parish ranging in age from 2 years old and "up" gathered at the Church
and traveled to Greenville, NY to see the Ararat Center for the first time.
We left at approx. 9:15 AM (due to some late arrivals) and returned safely around 8:00 PM.
The Ararat Center provided a delicious chicken and pilaf dinner, with bourma, brownies and watermelon for desert.
The Archbishop presided over a traditional blessing of the water, bread and salt.
Some of our members even got up and danced to the live Armenian music donated by the Philly Kef Band.
This day saw the reunion of two of the charter members of the A.C.Y.O.A.! Crosby Goshgarian of St. James in Watertown and our own beloved Arthur Yagjian. Under the direction of Bishop Tiran Nersoyan, these two men were among the group of Armenian youth responsible for the founding of the ACYOA in 1946.
Mr. Yagjian is holding a picture taken in 1946 of a meeting of the Junior League in Providence, RI., almost 50 years ago.
